Classically defined Connectomics ”is the production and study of connectomes: comprehensive maps of connections within an organism’s nervous system, typically its brain or eye”. I found this definition quite restrictive because of the generality of the word and methods developed in such fields. Talking about connectomics in a broader sense I see that this is really reflecting what I do: explain the intricate and hidden functional and structural connections among systems’ functions and components. I have to say that on the ”function” side there are many ”unknowns” and ”unrepresented” connections while on the ”structure” side there is the lack of quantification of fundamental properties in search of fundamental factors leading to observed patterns. Welcome to the Connectomics 🙂 !
